I felt really strong until the end of mile 22, at this point I believe I still had loads of energy, but the pains in my legs just wouldn’t allow me to continue the pace – My head had been telling me the pain in my legs was too bad for the previous 3 miles, I told John to go on without me and I’d see him at the end.
I was able to pick up the pace a bit for the last mile

Recovery: I was very cold after the race and the 25 minute walk to the hotel was a killer – my groin was really at me and my walking pace was really slow.
Between icing and a hot shower I felt a bit better and when I got home I had a hot bath – this really helped. The back of my left knee and my ankles/top of my feet are still at me today, but a second bath means I walk climb the stairs ok
Peter will work on me at 16:30 and it would be great to be able for a 30 minute easy (10:00 pace) run at 19:00 with the Club.
